    In this paper, design principles of interior thermal insulation systems are formulated, and design methodology is given. Two examples of interior insulation systems applied to a classical brick wall are tested by a computational analysis. The long-term performance of renovated building envelopes is analyzed using the computer code DELPHIN. Temperature, relative humidity and overhygroscopic moisture fields are calculated for the time period of several years and the hygrothermal performance of the systemsis assessed
