The refined Midlin-Reissner theory is used to estimate an overall response of composite plate. The difficulties with required memory and elapsed time needed for solution of equation systems emerged for relatively small number of finite elements and smallnumber of layers. Similarity between the systems of equations derived from the layered theory and from the Finite Element Tearing and Interconnecting method (FETI) suggests a strategy for implementation of layered model in a parallel environment which is able to overcome those difficulties. Several applications are investigated and interesting numerical results are obtained
