Basic thermal and hygric properties, namely the thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, specific heat, water vapor permeability, water vapor diffusion resistance factor, moisture diffusivity, vacuum saturation moisture content, open porosity and adsorption isotherms of thermal insulation materials on mineral wool and calcium silicate basis, water vapor retarder and render materials, which were developed directly for an application in the interior thermal insulation systems, are determined. The measured data are discussed from the point of view of the applicability of the particular materials in the thermal insulation systems. The basic properties of selected materials of the load bearing structure of the building envelopes are measured as well
