Thermal Properties of Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Cement Composites in High Temperature Range
Original language description
Thermal diffusivity, linear thermal expansion coefficient and specific heat capacity of two carbon fiber reinforced cement composites were studied in the high-temperature range up to 800 0C in the paper. Clearly, the carbon fiber reinforcement improved the properties of the studied cement based composites compared to the cement mortar without any reinforcement, particularly for the thermal diffusivity and the linear thermal expansion coefficients (see [4] for the results on cement mortar). The probablereason for the positive changes are the adhesive properties of carbon fibers that can keep together the cement matrix even after decomposition processes due to the effect of high temperatures and prevent from opening wide preferential paths
