Measurement of Temperature Fields in Composite Steel and Concrete Bridges
Original language description
In designing bridges, one of the decisive tasks is the correct estimation of the bridge load. While the traffic load is subject to detailed investigation by means of monitoring traffic flows on roads and weighing carriages on railways, climatic loads have not been explored in such a detailed way yet. Only a few measurmenets of temperature fields in composite steel and concrete bridges have been performed abroad so far. This publication substitutes a missing database of experimental data in the field ofmeasurement of temperature fields and temperature gradients for composite steel and concrete bridge structures. Finally, it should be noted that measurement of this scope has never been conducted in the Czech Republic. The collected data will help designers of large bridges calculate the true value of effects of climatic loads on their bridge structures.
