Original language description
Microfocus X-ray computed tomography is used to reconstruct the structure of trabecular bone sample. Tissue modulus obtained from the nanoindentation experiments is used with Poisson's ratio 0.3. Plasticity model with isotropic hardening is used with tissue yield stress set according to results from mechanical testing. FE analysis of the samples show good correspondence between the apparent material properties predicted by the FE models and results obtained from mechanical tests.
