    Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Shear Behavior of PVA-ECC in Structural Elements

  • Original language description

    Combined experimental and analytical approach is used to investigate shear behavior of reinforced ECC structural elements. The experimental part consists of a self-contained program, which includes material tests under uniaxial tension and compression, reinforcement bond tests, and bending shear tests on beams. Experiments on selected beams are reproduced numerically. By comparing the experimental and numerical results we identify the importance of accounting for various mechanisms on the material scale(e.g., bond between ECC and reinforcement or crack sliding resistance) and verify if the uniaxial material tests truly represent the material behavior in a structural member.
