The Mock-up-CZ experiment
Original language description
The Mock-Up-CZ experiment simulates vertical placement of a container with radioactive waste according to the Swedish KBS-3 system. The model consists of a barrier of bentonite blocks and a heater. The heater, which substitutes for a container with radioactive waste, is placed inside the barrier. Water inflow through the barrier from its outer surface is possible (it simulates the impact of groundwater). The heater (like the container) loads the barrier with temperature. The whole experiment is enclosedin a cylindrical box, whose construction withstands high pressure due to bentonite swelling. A number of sensors (monitoring the changes in temperature, pressure and moisture) are placed inside the bentonite barrier. Data collection and storage system allows continuous monitoring of experiment with all data coming from sensors immediately available on-line.

Czech description
Mock-Up-CZ experiment modeluje systém svislého uložení kontejneru s vyhořelým jaderným palivem v hlubinném úložišti. Příspěvek prezentuje výstavbu a provozování modelu. Průběžný monitoring a on-line prezentace získaných dat je důležitou součástí experimentu.
