Comparing Measured and Computed Surface Temperatures of Saint Vitus Cathedral Bearing System
Original language description
The Saint Vitus Cathedral is part of the UNESCO world heritage. The changes of temperatures are one of the effects which cause degradation of the structure. Tendency to understand of this degradation process leads to measurement of surface temperatures of the bearing system by thermo-vision. Continual monitoring of the structure by thermo-vision is very complicated therefore the mathematical simulation of distribution of structure surface temperatures was made. This simulation includes the impact of temperature around the structure and solar radiation. Detected differences between theoretical and measured values of surface temperatures was lower than 2°C, thus this model for distribution of temperatures is realistic.
