High-Temperature Thermal Expansion of Fiber-Reinforced Cement Composites
Original language description
The linear thermal expansion coefficient of several fiber-reinforced cement composites is determined in the temperature range up to 1000°C. Glass fibers, carbon fibers, PVA fibers and aramid fibers are used in the preparation of the composites by two different technologies involving vacuum mixing and autoclaving. Experimental results show the positive effect of fiber reinforcement on thermal strain; the fibers are able to prevent the matrix from an excessive volume increase due to their good adhesion.
