Soft computing in concrete mix optimization
Original language description
Modelling of hydrating concrete represents a challenging task especially due to multiscale nature and missing mathematical formulation of several underlying phenomena. This opens a way for soft computing techniques, namely cellular automatabased hydration model, genetic algorithms and Kriging approximations. The objective aims at an approximation of hydration heat by mentioned techniques, taking into account chemical and physical cement composition and boundary conditions. Hydration model is further presented in a multiscale task demonstrating an optimization of cooling pipes in a massive concrete member. Another technique, Kriging metamodel, aimes at prediction of hydration heat solely from experimental datasets. The method gives good prediction whenmonotonicity evolution of hydration heat is assumed. The multiobjective optimization is carried out, optimizing maximal Young's modulus and minimazing hydration heat.
