Effective Thermal Conductivities of Multilayer Plain Weave Textile Composites
Original language description
Reasonably accurate predictions of the overall response of a multilayered system can be found from the analysis of a two-layered periodic unit cell. The original microstructure is quantified by an appropriate (statistical) descriptor, which characterizesthe most important features of the disordered microstructure. This information is subsequently used for the definition of a simplified periodic unit cell, which optimally approximates the original microstructure in the sense of the selected statisticaldescriptors. Then the air voids occurred in the plain weave composites are taken into account when constructing the multilayered periodic unit cell.
