Roof-corrosion of steel sheets with zinc covering
Original language description
A roof is a part of the peripheral structure of an object that protects interiors from the negative impacts of the atmospheric environment. The lifetime of an object depends on the lifetime of its roof. One of the decisive factors affecting the lifetimeof a roof is the atmospheric corrosion. This is especially a consideration in the application of sheet-metal roofing where it is exposed to a complete range of chemical reactions present in a polluted atmospheric environment that can destructively corrode their surface. This paper will consider the specifications of the physical and chemical changes of a zinc surface of steel plates in a corrosive environment, comparing their lifetime in relationship to the corrosiveness of the atmospherically conditions and to the possibility of corrosive contact with other materials.
