The influence of metakaolin on scaling resistence of concrete
Original language description
The scaling resistance of high performance concrete with added metakaolin was studied in this experimental work. In the concrete mixtures 10% by weight of cement was replaced by metakaolin. The resistance of this concrete against salt-scaling was worse compared to air-entrained concrete mixture. In addition, interesting findings about the influence of the surface layer on the scaling test results are described in this paper. It was found that specimens without any surface treatment performed several times better than specimens with brushed surface.
