Material properties of plasters for façade renovation of historical buildings
Original language description
The lime binder is required for the renewal of plasters used on historical buildings. However, lime plasters corrode more easily than plasters with hydraulic or pozzolanic reactive admixtures. More suitable and historically used binders are materials based on lime putty and admixtures with pozzolanic properties. In this paper, different amounts of metashale are used as the pozzolana materials in lime-pozzolana plaster mixtures. This material forms a solid structure of CSH and CAH compounds at first, later calcium carbonate. On the basis of the measurements performed, the suitability of the newly developed plasters for an application in reconstruction of historical buildings is confirmed.
