Alternative Concrete Composition Control Methodology for Ready Mixed Concrete Plants
Original language description
This research aims to propose an alternative composition control methodology for Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) plants. In Brazil, the RMC quality monitoring, and further definition of concrete composition corrections, is based on the trends presented by thecompressive strength test results. These are analyzed, according to different methods, by the plant chief technician. Therefore, the proces becomes dependent on the experience of the technician. Aiming to reduce this dependence relation, and also guidethe technician in the concrete composition corrections, an alternative methodology of analysis was developed. The proposed methodology is based on the evaluation of the overall proces variability, compressive strength test results and definition of RMC design curves to define which corrections might be performed in order to match the specified strength with the variability of the process.
