Long-term Stability Monitoring in the Prague Castle Area
Original language description
Analyses and assessment of technical state of historical buildings in the Prague Castle area are based on observational method to gather basic information about structures behaviour. Monitoring is provided with combination of different methods of surveying, cracks, inclination and temperature measurements together with monitoring of dynamic effects of traffic and near tunnelling activities. These methods were enhanced by line-wise measurements using high-precision sliding micrometer and inclinometer toassess the role of subsoil and to discover potential very slow slope movements in the area. Problems connected with long-term stability of historical buildings are further studied with the use of static analyses and numeric models of selected buildings in the area.
