Moisture and heat transport and storage characteristics of two commercial autoclaved aerated concretes
Result description
Two commercial autoclaved aerated concretes (AAC) are investigated from the point of view of their hygrothermal performance in contemporary buildings. On that account, their moisture and heat transport and storage characteristics are determined in the moisture and temperature ranges necessary for a thorough hygrothermal assessment. Among the transport parameters, thermal conductivity is measured in a wide range of temperature and moisture, moisture diffusivity is obtained as a function of moisture content, water vapor diffusion coefficient as a function of relative humidity. The specific heat capacity and adsorption isotherm are measured as representatives of heat and moisture storage parameters. The obtained data are supposed to fill the gap in the current knowledge of material parameters of commercial AAC products, thus to help in increasing the quality of design process of AAC-based building envelopes in building practice.
