    In recent years, the use of timber-concrete structures has considerably increased especially in case of reconstructions and constructions of prefabricated residential houses. One of the most important requirements of these structures is fire resistance.Author´s research should better the knowledge on the field of fire resistance design of the timber-concrete structures. Therefore, the aim is based on the generalizing of the results, which will serve as a device for civil engineering practice to be ableto safely and economically design such a kind of structure in case of fire. As a next step of the research, analysis of interaction between both materials will be carried out to improve the performance. This paper deals with recent state of knowledge intimber-concrete structures. Main part of the paper is closely connected with author´s doctoral thesis, where main scope is to describe accurately the behaviour of these structures in case of fire.
