Integral structures are a convenient solution especially for short- and medium-span bridges. Their advantages are first of all decreased demands and costs needed for maintenance and repairs and by this way also decreased whole-life costs of the bridge. One of the problems, which still need to be solved properly, is structural arrangement and long-term performance of transition areas.
