    Nedestruktivní testování konstrukčního dřeva

  • Original language description

Timber, as a structural material, has been used for hundreds years and recently has become popular again, because it is the only real renewable material. It is necessary to assess and observe its condition as a part of maintenance in old and even in newbuildings, without any obvious damage. Standardized testing, that defines material properties reliably, is unfortunately destructive. Non-destructive testing is more suitable for using in-situ and do not break a compactness of structural components, butit is not covered by standards. The project´s objectives are to compare these two ways of testing of material properties, to find out relationships between them and to specify limit of reliability of non-destructive testing so it could be used more effectively, e.g. in structure monitoring.
