Nedestruktivní testování konstrukčního dřeva historických konstrukcí

  • Original language description

Timber, as a structural material, has been used for hundreds years. There are many historical structures in the Czech Republic made of timber. It is necessary to assess and observe their condition as a part of maintenance. Standardized testing that defines material properties reliably is unfortunately destructive. Non-destructive testing is more suitable for using in-situ and does not damage the structure elements, but it is not covered by standards till now. The project´s objectives are to compare these two ways of testing of material properties and to find out relationships between them. During the research it is also necessary to look at the structure in wider context, e.g. to take into account its age and cultural heritage point of view.
