Building sustainability assessment system corresponding to needs of users
Original language description
The sustainability assessment system for buildings should do more than award splendid diplomas and medals for the best projects: it should above all attempt to improve the whole building stock. To achieve this, the creators of systems should not just ensure that the quality requirements of the system are challenging, by selecting appropriate assessment indicators, and by setting appropriate benchmarks and weightings among the criteria. They should also focus on quantity, on the market share of assessedbuildings. Quantity is dependent on motivating people to use sustainability assessments in general. This paper analyses the needs of users, and on motivating the use of sustainability assessments.
