Intense bed-load friction and transport: the effect of concentration
Original language description
A flow in the upper plane bed regime is studied. Special attention is paid to the effect of the delivered concentration of sediment on bed friction. Experimental data from laboratory flumes are compared with predictions by transport- and friction formulae. The formulae were derived originally for the upper plane bed regime in slurry pipes and they were calibrated by pressurized-pipe data.
