Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of Adsorption Isotherms of Building Materials
Original language description
The dynamic vapor sorption device DVS-Advantage is used for the measurement of adsorption isotherms of several types of building materials, namely lime-cement mortar, hardened gypsum, cellular concrete, light-weight ceramic brick and calcium silicate. The measurement is performed in the relative humidity range of 0-98%. The experimental data is analyzed using theoretical formulas based on the BET, BSB, and FHH isotherms, assuming a mono- as well as multi-layer water vapor adsorption. A combination of BSB and FHH formulas is found to provide the best approximation of experimental data.
