  • Original language description

The paper discusses an effect of heterogeneous temperature fields on a structural behaviour in a compartment fire. For the purpose of the investigation a numerical simulation of a full-scale fire compartment test executed in Czech Republic in 2011 is used. Numerical results of gas and beam temperatures are validated by experimental measurements and compared to temperatures induced by traditional design fire method represented by zone model. The level of temperature difference between both assumptions ?travelling fire and traditional design fire model is described. Observations of gas and beam temperature from numerical calculation show a significant impact of travelling fire on structural members of the fire compartment.
