Tunnel Lining Loading Measurement of Drainage Gallery of Strahov Tunnel in Prague
Original language description
Irreplaceability of geotechnical monitoring for ensure the safety of construction and opera-tion of underground structures is obvious. One of the important information, which geotechnical moni-toring provide is progress of stress changes around the own excavated space. Measurements of contact stress in the selected profiles were performed also during construction of drainage gallery under the Strahov tunnels. Strahov tunnel, which was opened in 1997, consists of two separate tunnel tubes with a centralrock pillar. Almost immediately after its commissioning were observed leaks in waterproofing of tunnel lining. Most of leaks are observed in the southern parts of the tunnel tubes. Especially in the winter seasons, this condition has a negative impact ontraffic safety in the tunnel. As the most suitable solution to this problem was chosen construction of excavated drainage tunnel, which should provide adequate drainage of the surrounding rock mass. Construction of drainage gallery was c
