This paper compares possibilities of reinforcement arrangement in bridge piers and its influence on damage of the pier caused by truck impact. The vehicle impact at the bridge pier is modeled with the use of ANSYS Autodyn. Nonlinear material model with damage and strain-rate effect is used for concrete.
