    The multilayer cellular automaton (CA) model is based on the two dimensional cellular automaton introduced in the article BURSTEDDE, C., KLAUCK K., SCHADSCHNEIDER A., ZITTARTZ J., ?Simulation of pedestrian dynamics using a two-dimensional cellular automaton?. It allows to simuluate global multidirectional movements (into a building, out from a building, between rooms). If agents are assigned to the layer by their main direction, CA's global rules will be uniform for all agents and there will be no conflict between the floor fields. Layering also allows creating scenarios for different situations as evacuation, evacuation with reduced visibility etc.
