  • Original language description

The aim of this study is evaluation of influence of polluted surface runoff from roads and other impermeable surfaces. Currently, we are monitoring six reservoirs, which are used for runoff detention from the road. Monitored reservoirs are located at thePrague outer ring road (construction No. 512, R1, Jesenice - D1). In the collected water samples dissolved and suspended solids, basic chemical and physical parameters, toxic metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, Zn) and microbiological tests for E.coli and coliform bacteria were determined. Content of toxic metals was measured in sediment samples as well. The study reflects the need to monitore the quality of surface runoff from impermeable surfaces (roads, highways, expressways), because the runoff from roads is often discharged directly into surface waters (creeks, rivers, ponds etc.).
