Bond of Reinforcement embedded in UHPC - experimental testing
Original language description
Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a relatively new type of material which has become increasingly used. Its outstanding features are generally known (compressive strength higher than 150 MPa, tensile strength higher than 20 MPa and high durability). Other features, like the bond between steel reinforcement and concrete, is proving to be a major factor in the design, because it directly affects the required anchorage length of the used reinforcement. UHPC should be used in complex structural details like joints of precast elements. One of the aplication of UHPC joints could be in composite steel concrete bridges with a precast bridge deck. However, the joints of precast elements, where also headed studs are anchored, may become weak points of the system. The reinforcement from individual parts of the precast slabs has to be connected in the area, where a number of stud connectors carry shear force between steel and concrete and where the transversal bending moments are also extr
