Intense transport of bed load in steep flume
Original language description
Transport of bed load and interrelated bed friction are studied for sediment-laden flows in the upper plane bed regime of open-channel flow. Experimental results for model sediment (a fraction of plastic grains) in our new tilting flume are discussed andcompared with results for similar flows in other laboratory. A basic concept is proposed for an evaluation of bed friction under weak-transport- and intense-transport conditions in the upper-plane-bed regime. An earlier proposed formula for sediment transport is confirmed to work for the tested flow conditions.
