Wang tilings for microstructure compression and RVE synthesis
Original language description
The paper presents Wang tilings as a method for compression of microstructure of random heterogeneous materials and puts the concept in the context of Representative Volume Element generation and numerical homogenization. Making use of the regular grid inherent to the tiling-based microstructure reconstructions, we employ the Partition theorem, introduced by Huet, to determine confidence intervals of the upper and lower bounds of the apparent quantity.
