THE OVERVIEW OF EVALUATION METHODOLOGY FOR BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
Original language description
The need for Building Information Modeling (BIM) adoption nowadays cannot be disputed. Construction companies often struggle with implementation of BIM methods into their practices. Also a public sector often struggles with pushing related standards, directives and other legislation to support BIM implementation throughout the local market. There are also problems on owner side with BIM procurement ? it is not possible to simply ask for BIM and more thorough specification and standardization is needed. It is not possible to simply measure the BIMness of a project or requirements, although such measurement tool would greatly help construction industry to benchmark, explain and evaluate BIM related processes and tools during the whole life cycle of construction project, leading into much higher efficiency of construction processes, especially in the process of working with information. The article proposes simple methodology of BIMness evaluation in construction projects.
