Original language description
The map illustrates the result of closeness centrality analysis of all buildings in Prague with no limiting distances. The "Urban Reachability" tool for ArcGIS 10.2, developed at the Department of Geomatics (K-155), was used for the analysis. The tool calculates several indexes, including accessibility, betweenness, closeness and straightness. The closeness index shows to which extent a building i is close to all other buildings along the shortest paths in existing road network. The pedestrian and road network of Prague including all roads and paths as well as the geodatabase of the Prague Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre, which contains information about the locations of all buildings in Prague was used for the closeness analysis. This map is a part of an extensive research of Prague urban form, aimed to reduce transport energy consumption and negative impacts on the environment.
