The Load-bearing Capacity of Railway Substructure Geotechnical Models with a Rubber Granulate
Original language description
The use of rubber in railway structures is known in anti-vibration mats. This article is focused on verification of a rubber granulate obtained from recycled rubber in multilayer system of railway substructure. The estimated contribution of rubber is the vibrations reduction, the increase of permeability and the higher frost protection of the sub-ballast ayer. The essential observed parameter was the load-bearing capacity as the key criterion for further application. This paper describes the grain size curve and the construction process of the geotechnical models M1 and M2 in an experimental box. The gained experience of this research is the comparison of the two different types of geotechnical models. The model M1 with the rubber granulate placed separately and the model M2 based on a mixture of the rubber granulate and crushed stone. The load-bearing capacity compared with a required standard is presented as the main contribution of this paper.
