The Development of Geotechnical Models of a Railway Track with a Construction Layer Based on Crumbed Rubber

  • Original language description

This researchaims tothe laboratory verification of a crumbed rubber in the track substructure. The main idea of testing the crumbed rubber in a construction layer is to increase the frost protection of sub-ballast layer, to reduce vibrationsemitted from the transport and to increase the permeability. Parameters observed in this research included load-bearing capacity and vertical deformations as the essential criterion for the further application of the crumbed rubber. This paper describes the specification of the crumbed rubber origin and the process of construction of geotechnical models M1 and M2 in an experimental box. The conclusion of this article is based on the comparison of the two different types of geotechnical models with the crumbed rubber - first with separate layer and second with mixture of the crumbedrubber and crushed stone. The conclusion based on the load-bearing capacity and vertical deformations is the main contribution of this paper.
