Innovative Elements and Structures Made From Ultra High – Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete
Original language description
UHPC is an innovative, cement composite material reinforced usually with spreaded reinforcement. This material is characterized by very high mechanical properties and very high chemical stability and durability. Newly developed UHPC components will be usable throughout the transport infrastructure, replacing existing structures by reducing their weight, reducing transport, assembly and storage costs, while reducing the size and dimensions of foundation structures. UHPC structures with its optimized shape and lower weight allow mounting of the construction under difficult conditions. The associated acceleration of construction and assembly greatly reduces or eliminates the necessary time of closure. Main goal of the ongoing research is to increase the lifetime and accelerate the construction of infrastructure transport buildings by using modern high-quality material with very high mechanical properties and durability. Progressive material is used for a new progressive structures and construction. Main focus is development and implementation of UHPC into the construction of precast elements of transport buildings - UHPC pillars and barriers, small prefabricated elements for transport infrastructure from UHPC (curbs), UHPC type bridge beams (designed for footbridges, road and rail bridges). Due to the UHPC's durability, functionality and aesthetics and savings are guaranteed by reducing or totally eliminating the necessary maintenance and repairs. Research in Czech Republic focus on real application of UHPC material in the field of transportation
