New perspective in design of innovative UHPFRC structures

  • Original language description

The main purpose of this paper is to present actual research in the field of UHPC (Ultra – High Performance Concrete) in Czech Republic. Main goal of the ongoing research is to increase the lifetime and accelerate the construction of infrastructure transport buildings by using modern high-quality material with very high mechanical properties and durability. Progressive material is used for a new progressive structures and construction. The aim of the project is the development and implementation of UHPC into the construction of precast elements of transport buildings - UHPC pillars and barriers, small prefabricated elements for transport infrastructure from UHPC (curbs), UHPC type bridge beams (designed for footbridges, road and rail bridges). These elements will replace existing designs by reducing weight, transport costs, assembly and storage costs. Due to the UHPC's durability, functionality and aesthetics and savings are guaranteed by reducing or totally eliminating the necessary maintenance and repairs.
