Probabilistic network models of fire spread
Original language description
This paper deals with a probabilistic approach to fire spread in buildings. It describes Bayesian network model implemented as a representative of probabilistic network models to account for data probability and dependencies between particular events. Bayesian network model is used as a tool to calculate the probability of fire spread from ignition compartment to a chosen compartment. Bayesian network model can be implemented as an comparative tool for different structural design, for fire-fighter department’s development of efficient incident action plan and account also for fire damage from possible fire event and its consequent costs. The general description of the model and its application in fire spread analysis is included. The uncertainty connected with fire-related input data and its propagation to output variables is briefly discussed.
