Recent Developments in the Integration of Building Simulation and CFD
Original language description
Within integrated building simulation two approaches exist for air flow modelling:zonal networks and computational fluid dynamics /CFD/. Although well adapted for building energy application, the nodal network method is limited when it comes to consideration for indoor comfort and air quality. Because momentum effects are neglected, intra-room air movement can hardly be studied, and, as a result of the low resolution, local surface convection heat transfer is poorly represented.. To overcome these limitations, it is necessary to conflate CFD and building simulation.
