Original language description

This paper deals with evaluation of the biomaterials used for surgical implants. The wear resistance is indispensable parameter for evaluation of the mechanical properties. The special wear resistance test is called "RING ON DISC". The test is carrying out according to ISO 6474:1994. This type of testing is very important for appreciation of new direction in total joint replacement, based on a new combination of biomaterials.
