Analysis of Sensors Locations in Engine Exhaust Manifold
Original language description
In the framework of research and development (R&D) activities on internal combustion (IC) engines it is necessary to correctly determine exhaust gas temperature. During engine run exhaust gas temperature and flow rate as well changes significantly. Thesereasons cause difficulty to obtain representative value. Situation is especially complicated as far as cooled exhaust collector is considered as it is commonly used on co-generations engines. Analysis of sensors location was made in the first step of effort aiming to solve this problem. The velocity profiles of the running medium in exhaust manifold were calculated and proper sensor position was designated. At the same time, adequate conditions were taken into account, concerning assembly of whole exhaust manifold with both temperature and pressure sensors.
