    PIV Investigation of an Airfoil with a Gurney Flap

  • Original language description

    This paper reviews the research on NACA 23012 airfoil profile equipped with Gurney flap. It investigates airfoil performances for different angles of attack at Re cca 5.105, based on chord, both with clean configuration and various Gurney flap sizes. Measuring device 2D-PIV (Two-dimensional Particle Image Velocimetry) system was used. With the aid of 2D-PIV system was thoroughly measured velocities in the whole area around the airfoil NACA 23012. The contribution of Gurney flap to the aerodynamic forceson the aerofoil was calculated from the data by using Kutta-Joukowski Lift Theorem and is in very good agreement with force measurements results.

    Tento článek popisuje nový způsob výpočtu vztlaku leteckého profilu. Měření bylo provedeno na profilu NACA 23012 s Gurneyho klapkou a bez GK. Pomocí měřícího systému PIV bylo změřeno pole rychlostí okolo profilu. Integrací rychlosti proudění po uzavřenékřivce okolo profilu byl vypočten vztlak (Kutta-Žukowskeho rovnice). Výsledky jsou porovnány s dalšími dostupnými měřeními. .
