PIV Investigation of an Airfoil with a Gurney Flap
Original language description
This paper reviews the research on NACA 23012 and FX66-17AII-182 airfoils aerodynamic performance for different angles of attack at Reynolds Number Re=3x10e5, based on chord, both with clean configuration and the flaps. Flow field around airfoil was measured using 2D-PIV (Two-dimensional Particle Image Velocimetry) system and measurement of static pressure on airfoil surface was carried out. This paper also describes new methods in Gurney flap research, using 2D-PIV system and Kutta-Joukowski Lift Theorem or static pressure assumption to evaluate airfoil lift.

Vyšetřování vlivu Gurneyho klapky na profilu metodou PIV
