Original language description
There are generally three types of joints used in composite engineering: adhesive joint, bolted joint and so called integrated joint. Attention is focused on the third type of joints---called integrated high performance joint (IHPJ). By this method loadis implemented directly into the composite structure avoiding cutting fiber or adhesive shear load. New proposals of multilayer lugs with different stiffness of layers were calculated and tested. Analytical formulae appropriate for optimum design of theIHPJ were derived. Under a series of preliminary assumptions, whose range of validity was determined, some interesting results were obtained. And thus these formulae would be the ground of engineering design procedure, which is one of the main goals of solution of our project.
