Original language description
The contribution is oriented upon modelling the thermal forming processes of starch based suspensions in a closed mould. Experiments confirm almost uniform radial pressure and temperature profile, therefore simple integral model describing three stages (heating, free water evaporation and bound water evaporation) can be used for description of temperature and pressure as a function of time. Sample expansion is experimentally determined by an array of thermocouples and modelled by FEM. An attempts how toreduce the process time making use direct ohmic heating and microwave heating are reported
