Electrochemical Identification of Particle Layer Sediment in Reactors and Bioreactors
Original language description
It is necessary to be able to observe process of particle settling, which can occur in industrial equipment with suspension of solids and liquid flowing inside (e.g. at hydraulic transport of suspension, there is necessary to observe particles, whether they don't settle at pipe wall or in a case of suspension mixing equipment at a vessel bottom). There exist many methods for identification of particle layer sediment. Visual observation of particle sediment is one of the simplest methods. However it is applicable only in transparent apparatuses and transparent suspensions. Moreover, all visual methods are strongly dependent on experimenter's experiences and it is also difficult to automate these measurements or use the method in automatic manufacture control system. Other methods can be based on measurement of suspension conductivity, liquid flow capacity, pressure at the wall, etc.
