    Mixing of high-capacity tanks for biofuel production

  • Original language description

    Fermentation of substrate consisting of water suspension of biological matters, which are heavier or lighter than water, is the main process at biogas production. It is necessary to reach sufficient homogeneity of substrate and temperature field too. This is done by process of mixing. Installed mixing equipment must provide not only sufficient batch homogeneity but it also must drag down light particles from the liquid level into the batch and also prevent heavier particles from sedimentation. It is notpossible to use standard centrally placed impellers at large-volume fermentation tanks. There was proposed system of properly placed and adjusted sidewall impellers for these cases.
