Study of Mixing in Biogas Reactors
Original language description
From the energetic viewpoint, there is mostly used mixing batch in an anaerobic reactor by mechanical impellers. During designing of mixing equipment, it is particularly necessary to chose proper type of impellers, their adjustment, relative size and also to determine their speed and power input. The impeller must fulfill many tasks in a reactor - it must ensure homogenization of a batch and especially to prevent heavier particles from settling down to vessel bottom respectively lighter particles from drifting up to liquid level. At fermentation, it is sufficient when impellers work only for short time periods, because it is necessary for the process requirements to provide casual re-arrangement of substrate in whole reactor so the fermentation processtake place in the whole batch preferably uniformly. This work is focused on determination of correct arrangement of impellers in mechanically mixed batch using centrally placed impeller or using side impellers.
